OSSD on CAPITOL HILL
OSSD invites all its members to visit Congress and to advocate for maximum federal funding for health research, including sex and gender based research. On Capitol Hill, those who participate in the political process succeed in gaining support for their causes. Therefore, we encourage all OSSD members to participate in congressional meetings when visiting Washington, D.C. This is the ideal time to become involved with the political process and make your voice heard.
These meetings serve to educate congressional staff about the importance of the individual participant's research and the need for increased funding for biomedical research. Moreover these meetings will help to build recognition of OSSD within Congress and to raise awareness of issues of concern to researchers.
